Galatasaray signed Ilkay Gündogan (34) on a free transfer from Manchester City. The German midfielder agreed to a deal until 2027.

Manchester City is making changes after a poor season. Coach Pep Guardiola did not count on Gündogan anymore. The midfielder did not play in the first three Premier League games this season. Because of that, he decided to move to Turkey.

"I am very happy. For me and my family this is a big day. I want to adapt fast, meet my teammates, and give joy to the fans," Gündogan said. He will earn around €4.5 million per year.

In his second spell at City, Gündogan played 54 matches, scored 5 goals, and made 8 assists. Between 2016 and 2023, he won five Premier League titles, the Champions League, and other trophies. Earlier, with Borussia Dortmund, he also won the Bundesliga in 2012.

Galatasaray spent almost €150 million on new players this summer. Striker Victor Osimhen came from Napoli, defender Wilfred Singo from Monaco, and goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakır from Trabzonspor. Free agent Leroy Sané joined from Bayern Munich and knows Gündogan well from the German national team.

For football fans and betting players in Uganda, Galatasaray is now a very strong team. With Gündogan's experience, they can be dangerous in the Turkish Super Lig and in Europe.
